When I first started a blog separate from my family blog, this is what I said:

I need my own place to express my thoughts on whatever I want. A place to let it all hang out there (so to speak). This blog… well, this is home to my political and mother based rants, among other things. If you are easily offended, I would recommend sticking to the other two blogs. I intend to write about abortion, breasts, and a whole slew of other “liberal” topics, and quite honestly, I do not really care if anyone likes or agrees with what I write.

Looking back, I have to admit, that is exactly what I have done, though my tone certainly has changed.  I look back at what I wrote and think that I sound like the mother of a four month old baby– short on sleep and with a lot on my mind. I certainly was tired of others telling me how I should parent when it was not how I wanted to parent!

So what has this blog become?

Yes, it still contains activism– boobs, parenting, public policy, and more– but it has become more than that. Now, it is also about me and my journey– not separate from my family, but because of my family. After many years of searching, I have found and know who I am.  I will not promise that my positions will never change, but I do know that they are true at that moment in time.
