Pieces of My Mind

I empty my mind for the world to see.

The 5 minute shower challenge is coming to an end.

Written By: Maria - Aug• 26•08
Honestly, I stopped posting on it, because I take ridiculously fast showers– every other day. OK. Sometimes it is every third day, but only when day #3 is Saturday. None the less, on days where I go over, I excuse myself due to my overall shower time when averaged out over the week or month.
Crunchy Domestic Goddess asks:
How did you do?

See above. I did very well, in my honest not at all biased opinion.

Was it easy? Hard? A pain in the ass?

For me, it was easy. I don’t shave often. I shower every other day. Those were things I was doing anyway. The challenge for me was to shorten my time, and I was able to do that by giving up my hanging out with water running.

After the challenge ends, will you continue to take shorter showers?

Yes, I will. It has become a habit to take shorter showers, and I will continue to do that.

My overall impressions– I did end up shortening my showers as a result of the challenge, and it certainly made me more aware of the length of my shower and the showers of others in my household. Unfortunately, all of the saved water went to allowing The Boy play with the water hose outdoors when it was over 100 degrees. In the long run though, it’ll be a net gain for our household!

Thanks Crunchy Domestic Goddess for helping me work on my crunch!

This is super impressive! We’re told to turn off the water while brushing our teeth, to water the lawn less, etc., but rarely do we hear of the virtues of shorter (and fewer) showers. Kudos to you!
