We’re back in the states, and there is so much I want to say. Unfortunately, I need to stop doing stuff so I can have a minute to sit down and write!
One quick thought though before I do a meme and go to sleep–
What is it with recycling in America? I was not in Germany that long (nine months), but I HATE throwing things out now! I feel myself cringe as I put things in the trash that I normally would have separated in to the appropriate bins. Actually, it was similar in France, so I guess I have been doing it for the most part of two years. Point is– we throw away a lot of crap in the US. Heck, I have to pay the city extra to take my recycling, and they only take paper, certain plastics and glass, and cans.
OK– a second thought. This one is a directive to all of the SLOW drivers cruising along in the left lane: “MOVE YOUR SLOW ASS OVER!”

Oh my God! This is my rant for the day, btw. For I do not even remember how many days– three or four? — “they” have been tearing down the old drink store one street over from us. I guess that includes removing the cement. The store was not very big, nor was the little drive through parking lot, so I do not know why, but they have been jack hammering for a long time. It is driving me nuts! All I want is silence! Oh, and it goes from about 0730 or 0800 until 1700… I think that is when it stops, but it continues to resonate in my head for hours beyond that!!! MAKE IT STOP!

Dear Fat (or slender) LAZY Germans,
Walk up the dang flight of stairs and leave the elevator to those who truly need it! Seriously– six Germans on an elevator today…all looking at me with my stroller… as they pack themselves in to the elevator and I am left to wait five minutes for it to return.
This has been bothering me for quite some time, but today was the last straw. I’ll give the elderly the benefit of the doubt, but the rest… well, they need to WALK UP THE ONE FLIGHT OF STAIRS! Heck, some can’t even be bothered to walk ten feet to go up the escalator!
Anyway… this is the end of this rant for now, but I am still mad!

My husband and I experienced a first last night. Someone had honked at the person in front of them, and that person got out of their car to yell at the honker. How sad is it that all I could think was– They are lucky they didn’t get shot.
